It’s never too late to apply to a selective high school!
Available places in Year 7 and 8 are limited in most top selective high schools , such as James Ruse Agricultural High School, even after sitting the selective high school test. What a pity! Will one exam decide my child’s academic life or even their whole future? Is there any hope?
The answer is yes! Most of the top schools will accept more students in Year 9, 10 and 11. There are up to 30 new places available for Year 9 students in some selective schools. The door to succeed is reopened to the public!

- 2. Most schools will need to view your school report
- 3. Some schools will give you an entry test
Please note, Applications are open to students from any school in NSW.
If you work hard with us in Maths before you are in Year 9, you should all apply for a selective school.
